The Muskoka Lakes Museum offers numerous events throughout the season including a Lecture Series, Children's Programming and Special Events.

Snow Snakes at WinterFest - The Snow Snakes event at Port Carling's Winterfest was a fun time for all participants! Mayor Susan Pryke won the Ladies throwing contest. As reigning champion she is ready to defend her title against all challengers next winter.

Monday, May 12 – The Heritage Celebration Potluck dinner at the Port Carling Community Centre, was great fun, with Paul Dodington speaking on the history of recorded sound.

Saturday, May 17 - Opening Day Plant Sale 10am to 2pm Featuring native and heritage specimens, with experts on site.

Muskoka's 1st Peoples exhibit on until June 29th.

Tim DuVernet photo exhibit, 'Celebrating Wood & Glory: Muskoka's wooden boating heritage' opens in the Catto Gallery, Friday June 13th, to Thursday, July 10th.

Saturday June 14, 10am  to 4pm -- DOORS OPEN MUSKOKA Free, self-guided and guided tours. Site maps available at the museum.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS begin every Wednesday and Thursday

from July 2 - August 21 for 5 -9 yrs. old. Contact the Museum to pre-register.

WALKING TOURS OF PORT CARLING

Every Thursday at 1:30pm in July & August. Cost is $7.50 per person

Ghost Towns of Muskoka exhibit on for the month of July, with a book signing on Saturday, July 12th with Andrew Hind and Maria daSilva, authors of the new book  'Ghost Towns of Muskoka'

Lloyd Walton painting exhibit, 'Across Canada coast to coast:' opens in the Catto Gallery, Friday July 11th, to Thursday, August 14th. Meet the artist at the Opening Reception, Sunday July 20th, from noon to 4pm.

Saturday, July 19 - The Museum's Annual General Meeting takes place at 3:00pm.

Tuesday, July 29 - ArtiFact or Fiction, Oviinbyrd Golf Club 4:30 –7 p.m.  Delectable hors d’oeuvres and beverages in elegant surroundings. Test your knowledge of Canadiana. Tax receipt for allowable portion.

Summer Fun exhibit on for the month of August
 
Resort Night, Wednesday, August 6th, starting at 7pm. Join the Architectura Conservancy of Ontario Muskoka branch for an evening about Elgin House and Glen Home.

Kevin Joyce graphite drawings exhibit, of local, historical buildings and scenes, opens in the Catto Gallery, Friday August 15th, to Thursday, September 11th.

David Thompson: explorer and cartographer exhibit from the Archives of Ontario on for the month of September.

A special 3-person photo exhibit, featuring Don Clement, Robyn King Thomas and Ted Ratajczak opens in the Catto Gallery, Friday September 12th, to Sunday, October 12th.

Saturday, October 11th, Thanksgiving Open House Join us for free pumpkin muffins and pioneer demonstrations as we ‘wrap-up’ the season.
